Publications registered under the PRP Act 2023 are required to file annual returns. The annual statement is a record of the circulation of newspapers in that printing year. Once the user submits the annual statement for publication, the same is used to compile the annual Press to India report of RNI. Annual return can be filled through online press service portal.
The owner/publisher has to file annual return every year as per the dates notified by RNI. Penalty can also be imposed on the publisher for not filing the annual return on time. And under the PRP Act 2023, the registration of the administration can be suspended for filling wrong details or not filling the details continuously for 2 years.
Keep in mind that after being suspended, if the publisher does not get his publication started again from the office of the Press Registrar General by filing the details correctly, then the registration of the publication can be cancelled.
