What is the timeline for processing an application on the Press Sewa Portal?

As per Section 7(4) of the Press and Registration of Periodicals Act, 2023, the Specified Authority (SA) is required to submit its no-objection or comments on the application to the Press Registrar General of India (PRGI) within 60 days from the date of receipt of the application.

Additionally, if any Deficiency Communication is issued, the Publisher is required to respond within 30 days from the date of its issuance.

Since processing may involve review of the Deficiency Communication (if any) or further clarifications or no-objection or comments from the SA, the overall timeline may vary from one application to another.
